Residents may pick up 10 filled sandbags from San Miguel Station 16 at 905 Gillespie Dr., Spring Valley, CA 91978.
Residents may also pick up 10 empty sandbags from San Miguel Headquarters (2850 Via Orange Way, Spring Valley, CA 91978) during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.) You will have to get your own sand, or use fill dirt or gravel.

From their website: "Bonita-Sunnyside offers free sandbags (bags and sand) to San Diego County residents at times of heavy rain. Sandbags are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are self served/self-fill. You will need to bring a shovel to fill the bags. Bags and sand are located on the east side of the fire station, on the blacktop. It is best to call ahead during business hours to confirm availability of sand and bags. Bags and sand are first come, first serve. No business use, personal use only. Please limit your use to 12 bags per household."

You may also consider visiting a local hardware store to purchase sandbags, or do a web search for "sandbag alternative," "water diversion tube" or "flood barrier." There are multiple items on the market that can be reused and stored when not needed.
